Alfred Hitchcock

January 29th, 2008 · No Comments

Alfred Hitchcock was a very famous British filmmaker. He was born in 1899 in England, and died in 1980. Because he excelled at thrillers and horror movies, he is known as the “Master of Suspense”. Hitchcock’s films were–and still are–immensely popular, and he worked with some of the biggest stars of his day, including Grace Kelly, Jimmy Stewart, Cary Grant, Lawrence Olivier, and many more. One of his most famous films is Psycho, about a woman on the lam who is forced to stop at a creepy, vacant motel for the night when a rainstorm becomes to intense to drive in. The movie ends with a huge–and famous–twist. This scene is one of the most well-known and studied of all of cinematic history. It’s usually just referred to as “The Shower Scene”.
